How do I resize my headshot/resume? |

Generally the only file you would have to worry about reducing the size of would be your headshot. Text files for resumes are usually not too large in any format (MS Word etc).
- To reduce the size of an image you can do this in the Paint program that is provided free with windows (generally found under the Start Menu - Accessories - Paint).
- Once you open the image in this program, simply go to the Image menu item at the top and select Resize/Skew.
- A good measurement would be to make the image fit lengthwise in the top half of your screen. Be sure to diminish both the horizontal and vertical equally.
- Once the image is resized, save this new file somewhere you can find it (such as your desktop) and attach it to the application! |

This likely means that the resume and headshot you are trying to upload are the incorrect file type and/or are too large a file.
- Make sure the file type is one that is accepted: .jpg, .gif, .jpeg, .pdf, .wpd, .doc
- Resize your files so they are smaller

Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed by the instructor. After the course deadline date stated in the course description you will be notified of the status of your application VIA email: If you have been accepted into the course, you will be invoiced for the full course fee VIA PayPal. You will also be informed of any materials and preparation that is required for your first class and where your class location will be unless otherwise stated in the class description. |

All classes are by online application only and you will be contacted by email regarding the status of your application on or before the deadline for the class.
Students may only register for a course online through the Equity Showcase Theatre Website. Below you will find the complete instructions on the application process - only complete applications will be considered. Please review our policies below before completeing your class application found here.
A completed application includes:
1. Class Application form fully completed
2. Photo and Resume
3. Proof of current CAEA and/or ACTRA membership (if applicable)
Photo and Resume:
A photo and resume are required for all classes. A section is included on each application form to attach both your photo and resume. If you are having problems attaching your photo/resume, please contact us for further instruction. Note that only certain file formats are accepted. These formats include: .jpg,.gif,.jpeg,.pdf,.wpd,.doc. The document maximum file size is: 500pixels x 500pixels.
Full class fee:
Full class fee payment will be invoiced upon acceptance into each class. Payment will be made by PayPal or in the case of an issue regarding pay pal the fee may be paid by mail . If payment is not received promptly, you may forfit your spot in the course.
Submitting a completed application:
Deadlines are clearly marked within each class description.
Confirmation of registration:
Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed by the instructor. You will also be informed of any materials and preparation that is required for your first class and where your class location will be unless otherwise stated in the class description.
Official Tax Receipt
In addition to your confirmation of payment with PayPal, you will also at some point during the duration of your workshop receive VIA email an official signed receipt from Equity Showcase Theatre for your income tax purposes.
Withdrawal, Refund & Cancellation Policy:
Students may cancel their application without penalty anytime before they have been accepted and/or confirmed into a class. If you have confirmed with payment for a class and you have to cancel; you must do so within 2 business days prior to the start of the class. After this grace period we are not able to issue a refund. Any refunds will be issued VIA paypal to the account in which funds originated from.
Discounts:
CAEA rates apply to those who are paid-to-date members of Canadian Actors Equity Association, and is a subsidy graciously provided by CAEA. As a student of EST you are not a member of CAEA. In order to receive the CAEA discount you must supply proof (electornic image/copy) of your membership card with your application otherwise you will be charged the non-CAEA rate. No exceptions. Equity Showcase Theatre is most grateful to Canadian Actors Equity Association for this subsidy for its members. For more information on CAEA, please visit their website. If you are NOT a member of CAEA, but are a current standing member of ACTRA, you are eligable for the 20% discount as well. You must provide proof of your current membership (electronic image/copy).
Class Application Form:
Now that you have read and understand the application process listed above, you may complete the application form found within each course description. Make note of the class you are applying for with the Class Number. When clicking the "Apply for this course now!" button, you are applying for the course in which you were most recently viewing. If you wish to apply for another (or different) class, please navigate to that class and select the apply button. ONE APPLICATION PER CLASS. |
